We offer speakers at no charge for groups large
and small. Varieties of screenings are also available,
and can be scheduled to coincide with the speaker,
or on a regular basis.
Home Safety
Learn how to avoid falls and accidents in the
home. Our home physical therapist reviews ways
to give your home a "safety check up." (30
minutes)
What is Homecare?
Our experienced visiting nurse explains the ins
and outs of services in the home. Medicare coverage,
Managed Care, and Private care options are put
in plain language. Care management services available
through the homecare agency are explained (30
minutes plus Question and Answers)
Exercise and Fitness for Seniors
Our Physical Therapist talks to your group about
the rationale for exercise as we get older. Simple
suggestions for building exercise into your lifestyle
are discussed, along with safety. (30 minutes
plus questions and answers)
Nutrition for Seniors
Diet adjustments are important as our bodies
change with age. Learn the importance of the
different food groups and how our bodies use
nutrients from our Registered Dietician. (20
minutes plus questions and Answers)
Advanced Directives
The importance of advanced directives and the
types of advanced directives are explained. Decision
making when formulating an advanced directive
is discussed. Presented by our Medical Social
Worker. (20 minutes)
Meditation and Stress Management
Our Medical Social Worker will do a guided meditation
with your group and discuss the ways that stress
adversely affects our bodies. Experience the
benefits of relaxation first hand. (45 minutes)
Community Resources
When faced with a need for assistance, many of
us are overwhelmed and don't know where to look
for help. Learn ways to find out about available
programs offered by the county and state as well
as the federal government. Find out how to discover
if you are eligible for services. (20 minutes
plus questions and answers.)
Medication Safety
Many medications look alike and sound alike but
have very different effects on the body. Learn
what questions to ask your pharmacist about your
prescriptions and ways to avoid medication errors.
Tips to prevent problems with drug interactions.

Healthy Living Bingo
An interactive game that is fun for all ages.
Questions and answers about all areas of good
health make learning fun! (30-60 minutes)
Taking Care of the Caregiver
Strategies to alleviate some of the stress and
isolation experience by those who care for their
loved ones at home. Discussion of resources and
community supports, including respite care. (45
minutes)
Physical Changes as We Age
Our bodies and all our senses change as we get
older. Many of these changes are so gradual the
individual doesn't notice them. Learn ways to
spot these gradual, almost imperceptible alterations.
Learn about screenings available and safety precautions.

Winter Weather
Baby it's cold outside! Learn some of the ways
to protect yourself in the cold weather. Skin
care, respiratory precautions and exercise precautions
are all discussed. (20 minutes plus questions

Summer Safety
It's summertime, and make the living easy by
learning how to protect yourself from problems
caused by heat and the sun's rays. Presented
by one of our Registered Nurses. (20 minutes)
Living with Congestive Heart Failure: An overview of CHF with a focus on preventing re-hospitalization. Understanding the signs and symptoms and discussion on the importance of diet is reviewed.
Parkinson's Disease Overview: This program reviews the history of Parkinson’s, signs, symptoms and common problems. The presentation discusses some frequently asked questions and suggestions for living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Staying Healthy and Enjoying Each Day to the Fullest: Program focuses on how to reduce stress and enjoy what life has to offer. The program has a special section for caring for the caregiver.
Stay Strong! Fall Prevention: Safety in the Home: We will travel room by room in learning how to prevent falls and be safe in your home environment. Discussion of overall health and wellness is included in this informative presentation.
Humor and Your Health: Start clowning around!
Studies have shown that laughter is the best medicine. Humor and Your Health
is an interactive program that reviews the origins of humor, how to develop your sense of
humor and the positive effects of humor on your overall health and wellness.
Boot Camp for Your Brain: Exercising your brain is as important as exercising your body. This programs helps discover how to “flex your neurons” through an entertaining and interactive look at memory loss. Discover tips to keep your brain in shape by engaging in “smart attack tactics” and learn ideas that you can incorporate into your daily routine.
What’s in Your Bag: Mediations are an important part of your health maintenance program. This program helps you to understand your medication and how they interact with each other. Medication safety is also reviewed in this presentation.
